The position

As (sr.) technician USP, you will contribute to the process development of Intravacc’s vaccines. Within this function, you are primarily responsible for setting up and supporting upstream process experiments for the cultivation of bacterial or cell & virus cultures. You will carry out activities related to production of vaccine components in bioreactors, with a focus on developing, optimizing and validation of new processes. It is expected that you will take part in the manufacturing team once clinical trial material will be made. You will be closely working with members of the downstream processing and other Intravacc teams involved in the vaccine product development.

The role requires affinity and/or experience working in BSL-2/ML-II areas. In addition, you are familiar with working safely in a GLP/GMP environment. You have experience with working in a team. The role involves preparing, executing, analyzing, and reporting experiments. Daily equipment, inventory and lab management will be part of your activities. Main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Preparation of experiments
  • Independently and in a team carrying out experiments
  • Reporting results orally and in writing
  • Managing laboratory equipment and facilities

 

Your profile

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of and experience with bacterial and/or cell based USP processes. You have the ability to work and collaborate in multiple projects. You are a team player, precise in your work, self-critical and enthusiastic about solving problems and process challenges. You have a flexible mindset to deal with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

 

Job requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master degree (HLO, University), or equivalent in biotechnology or microbiology
  • ≥ 2 years of relevant work experience in USP
  • Experience with DSP and biochemical analysis is a plus
  • GMP experience is a plus
  • “Can-do” mindset and the capability to follow protocols accurately
  • Strong team player skills
  • Able to plan and organize your work independently and communicate results in the team proactively
  • Result- and client-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and/or English

A permanent position with initial employment for 1 year. We offer a good salary, dependent on education and experience, including 8% holiday allowance and an additional 8.3 % End of Year payment.
